Our Charitable Initiatives

From Seeds to Soil

The Church of Gnome began its journey in January of 2024 as an idea; a seed planted in curiosity, nurtured by laughter, and guided by purpose. Much of that first year was spent building the foundation: defining our principles, shaping our mission, and ensuring that what we created would be something genuine and lasting.

It wasn’t until April of 2025 that we began actively sharing the message of the Church with the world. That season marked the beginning of our marketing efforts, the promotion of our ordainment packages, and the start of a rapidly growing community of people united by a love of humor, meaning, and connection.

The focus of 2025 was on growth, with an emphasis on investing in marketing and developing the systems necessary to sustain a healthy, vibrant, and transparent organization. Our goal was not only to reach more people but to do so with intention, ensuring that each new member joined a community built to thrive long-term.

As we close out 2025, we are proud to say that those early efforts are bearing fruit. The foundation is strong, and the garden is growing.

The 2025 Season of Giving

This year, we were able to begin giving back in the ways we envisioned from the very beginning.

On October 31st, members of the Church volunteered with the Whatcom Interfaith Coalition, assisting with a successful community coat drive. That same day, the Church of Gnome was honored to donate $2,000 to the Bellingham Food Bank, supporting families and individuals in need during the colder months.

And the giving does not end there. For the December holiday season, we are preparing 400 hand-crocheted gnomes to be donated to a local toy drive; each one carrying a little spark of joy and the spirit of the garden.

These acts are just the beginning of what we hope will become a long legacy of generosity and service.

Helping Hands, Shared Light

Until we reach the point where we have the time and resources to manage our own charitable programs, our focus is on supporting and partnering with established nonprofits that are already making a difference. By lending our time, energy, and funds to these organizations, we ensure that our impact is immediate and meaningful.

It’s important to note that donations currently make up only a small portion of our overall revenue. The Church of Gnome is structured so that every dollar donated goes directly toward charitable initiatives, while operational costs like marketing and materials are covered through sales revenue. This allows us to keep our giving pure and transparent, exactly as it should be.

The Spirit of Gnomean Service

One of the most encouraging parts of this journey has been the number of members who reach out asking how they can help. We are deeply grateful for this enthusiasm and heart.

Right now, we are still building the infrastructure that will allow us to coordinate volunteer opportunities effectively. Until then, we plan to notify members whenever we partner with local organizations that need assistance in their area.

In the meantime, we encourage every Gnomean to bring our principles to life by getting involved in their own communities, whether through park clean-ups, coat drives, toy donations, or volunteering at local food banks. Acts of kindness, however small, are the soil in which the Gnomean spirit grows.

Looking Ahead

We are dreaming of the day when we can help members organize Gnomean gatherings and service events in their own cities and towns. Our members are literally all over the world, and with that comes the opportunity to touch countless lives.

We want to thank everyone for your patience and support as we navigate the incredible pace of growth the Church has experienced. The garden is expanding faster than we could have imagined, and we are doing our best to nurture it with care, transparency, and purpose.

More good things are coming. The roots are deep, the light is strong, and together, we are only just beginning.
