I am swedish and in our language a gnome is a "tomte". On christmass eve (or as we say Jul/Yule-aftonskväll) the Tomte comes to bring gifts. Yule has nothing to do with christianity but is a well documented pagan feast. Originaly the word Yule/Jul meant to be sharing sausages with someone. Just sipping out some information. Happy to be here!
