Gnomean Greetings from Northern Illinois!

Hi all. Avery here. I've been active in the FB group, but I am now getting around to reading the forums.

I have been a Gnomean for a 'short' while now, and the 'short' version is that I love the place. :-)

I am a former Zen Buddhist (21 years) turned Norse pagan / eclectic witch (3 years and some change? I don't remember exactly.) Yeah, it sounds like an odd combination, but you would be amazed at how much Buddhism brings to the table for pagans and witches. Emotional control, focus, a solid meditation practice, etc.

I discovered CoG as a Facebook ad, and I got curious. I checked it out and liked what I saw. In my eyes, CoG has fae / spirit / animistic leanings, and that works well for me. It really integrates into what I already do. PLUS... I love the amusement / whimsical element because religion can easily take itself WAY too seriously. Also, the lighthearted nature of CoG integrates well into my practice because it brings joy and happiness... things this world desperately needs more of.

Hmmm.... that's an idea. Get the CoG witches (and whomever else that wants to help) together and write up a ritual for raising happy, positive energy that we can put out into the world. Contact me if that sounds interesting to you.

I'm going to go exploring in the forums. Have a good one. I am super open about my practice and the religions it involves, so if I can be of any assistance message me for that too. :-)
