April 25-28, 2025: City Nature Challenge
Greetings Gnomeans! iNaturalist is doing a GLOBAL City Nature Challenge this weekend, April 25th - 28th, 2025, and it sounds like a perfect activity for us to embrace nature. I am linking the website below with more info. This is a great way to learn about local wildlife, mushrooms, bugs, spiders, and plants, while supporting scientific research. The photos should be of something in the WILD, not something that was specifically planted, but can absolutely be urban things if you're just walking around your neighborhood to find wild weeds and whatever grows in abandoned lots.
All are welcome and encouraged to join. It's easiest with a smartphone so you can download the free app, snap photos with your phone, and upload on the spot. If you are not into apps. you can take digital photos and upload them to the website. Each photo will need the exact date/time/location that it was taken so this is specifically for NEW wildlife observations.
