Become an Ordained Minister
Hey there, future Minister! Ready to embark on an exciting journey with the Church of Gnome? Great news – our ordination process is not just simple and accessible, it's also completely free! Just scroll down, learn the ways, agree to the terms and you will be a real ordained Minister!
Step into the World of Gnomean Ministry
Age, It’s Important: You can get Ordained by us if you are 16 or older and be spiritually recognized as a Minister; but you gotta be 18 or older to have it be legally recognized in most areas. It's all about sticking to those legal rules out there in the big wide world.
Real Names for Real Fun!
We love fun nicknames, but when it comes to ordination, we stick to real, legal names. It’s important for those official moments, like when you’re helping lovebirds tie the knot.
The Role of a Minister – Gnome Style!
As a Gnomean Minister, you're stepping into a role filled with joy and responsibility. You’ll have the opportunity to officiate life's big moments. It’s a chance to spread gnome-like cheer and wisdom!

Local Laws? They’re Your New Best Friends!
Every country, state, and county has its own rules for officiating weddings. While your ordination with the Church of Gnome is spiritually legit, legal recognition may depend on your location. It’s up to you to check the local requirements—think of it as a mini quest in legal land!
That said, countless Gnomean Ministers (including myself) have officiated weddings across the USA.
Getting Officially Proofed: Why Physical Documentation Matters
In the world of official ceremonies, paperwork often speaks louder than words. Some places may require you to present physical documentation before you can legally officiate events like weddings. That's why we strongly recommend ordering official, physical documentation of your ordination.
Your Official Title?
We encourage each ordained member to embrace a title that reflects their own spiritual path and beliefs. For the sake of clarity and consistency, however, all official Church of Gnome documents and references will use the title “Minister.”
-Please also note that the title “Elder” is reserved for the Gnomean Elder, as using it elsewhere can cause confusion about who speaks as an official representative or founder of the Church.
We Recommend You Get:
-
Ordination Certificate: Your official proof of ordination, suitable for framing and displaying with pride.
-
Ordination Card: A handy card to carry in your wallet, showing your status as an ordained minister whenever you need it.
-
Letter of Good Standing: A beacon of your ongoing commitment and active status within our community. Perfect for those who plan to perform ceremonies frequently or who need to present verified credentials in various jurisdictions. This official document is a testament to your adherence to our doctrines and your readiness to spread joy and gnome-like wisdom wherever you go!
While the digital age is wondrous, nothing beats the authority of a physical document in the eyes of the law (and sometimes skeptical in-laws). So, make sure you're all set to go forth and spread the Gnomean joy, legally and confidently!
